Mrs. F. S. Slane. Rebecca Hetfield was born in Pennsylvania May 9, 1841 and died May 25, 1913 at Columbus City, age 72 years and 16 days. She was married to Mr. F. S. Slane November 2, 1862 and to this union were born nine children of whom all are living. She also leaves 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. One daughter, Mrs. Wm. Sellers of Cairo, is the only one of her children living in this vicinity. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church Monday afternoon conducted by the Rev. C. L. Wilson. Burial in Columbus City cemetery.
