One of Wapello's oldest citizens, William Young, died at his home there Tuesday. He came to Iowa from Germany in 1855, locating in Wapello, where he and family have lived ever since. He will be well remembered as the last stage driver on the old Wapello and Burlington line. He also operated the line from Wapello to Old Clifton for some years. His wife and five children, two sons and three daughters, survive him.

William Young was born in Allenburg, Goxen, Germany, October 21, 1823 and died in Wapello, March 14, 1905, aged 81 years, 4 months and 23 days. Mr. Young has been a long time resident of Wapello and was much esteemed by everybody. Funeral services were held at the home, Thursday afternoon, March 16, at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. A, V. Dehmer. Interment in Wapello cemetery.
