Mrs. Rosanna Bobo was born in Pennsylvania, September 7, 1822; she died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. W. Edmondson, February 25, 1905. When about sixteen years of age, she was married to Jacob Bobo, who died at this place twelve years ago. Her marriage occurred in Ohio. Over fifty years ago she, her husband and six children came to Iowa, settling in this township which continued to be her home until death.

Of the children born to them, four daughters and one son are left to mourn the loss of a good mother. These are Mrs. Sarah Elliott. of Marengo county, Mrs. J. B. O'Connor and Mrs. R. F. Duncan, of this place and Mrs. S. W. Edmondson of Muscatine. The only son is Harrison, who also is a resident of Columbus Junction.

Her sickness was of about ten days duration; pneumonia and pleurisy, and her suffering most intense. The remains were brought to this place Sunday and taken to the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. B. O'Connor, where they rested until Monday. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. S. R. Drake at the Reformed church, Monday, February 27, at 10:30 o'clock, a. m. Interment followed later at the Tennessee cemetery.
