After an illness extending over a period of several months, Wyatt Van Kleek died at his home in Union township, Sunday, June 29, 1902, at 7 o'clock in the morning. Mr. Van Kleek was born in the state of New York in 1825. He came to this country from Indiana about thirty years ago and made his home since on the farm where he died. He and first wife separated ten years or so ago and were granted a divorce. He afterwards married a woman named Haskins, from near the Iowa-Missouri line somewhere. She has not lived with him much of the time for two years past. The funeral services were held at home Monday, conducted by Rev. F. W. Adams of the M. E. church. His first wife is dead; the latter survives him.
