J. L. Thompson met with a fatal accident at Woodruff's mill, three miles north of this place Saturday. He was carrying slabs from the mill when on of them caught throwing his against the saw. He was thrown completely over the saw landing on his face. His right arm was ripped from elbow to shoulder when it was severed from the body. His legs, face and head were terribly mangled. Doctors Hubbard and Darrow were called and did what they could for the unfortunate man but he died a t 7 o'clock in the evening. The accident happened about 8 o'clock in the morning.
