Amelia Weber Wykert, daughter of George and Rachel Weber, was born August 10, 1854, died March 26, 1902, aged 47 years, 7 months and 16 days. She was united in marriage to John S. Wykert, Feb. 9, 1875. To them were born six children, George H., Samuel H., John Henry, Essie , Thomas A. and Elsie E., all of who survive to mourn her loss. She also leaves two brothers, J. H. and C. Weber, of Wapello; and two sisters, Mrs. Hannah Deppey, of Long Creek and Mrs. John Story of Butte, Nebraska and an aged mother, Mrs. Rachel Weber of Wapello.

All of these were at her bedside except the two last names who were unable to be present. Mrs. Wyket was a loving wife, a kind mother, always ready to lend a helping hand. She had an unwavering faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and she lived in the full assurance of his saving grace. The funeral services were conducted at the home by J. R. Hammon. Interment in the Wapello cemetery.
