Death came with startling suddenness to Sam B. Creiger last Friday in Orono township. He had been riding on a wagon with a neighbor and got off to go his way. The neighbor heard no noise to indicate anything wrong, and drove on without looking back after Mr. Creiger had alighted. As the body was found near where the two separated, death must have resulted very soon after. Mr. Creiger was about 74 years of age, but was never married. He came to Iowa in 1853. His home has been in Muscatine and Muscatine county since. He had lived with Leander McKee for many years, but recently with the McCurdy's. He leaves property of considerable value. We understand that he left a will, but as to what disposition he made of his property, we do not know. His estate will probably amount to something like $30,000; perhaps more than that. The body was taken to Illinois for burial on Saturday. It was accompanied by a brother and some Conesville friends. The coroner's verdict was that death was the result of heart disease. Mr. Creiger, as an old citizen was quite generally know over this and Muscatine counties.
