Mrs. Jane Marshall died at her home near Cairo at 10 o'clock Sunday morning, Aug 25m 1901, at the age of about 86. She was the widow of the late Smith Marshall and with him she emigrated to this country in 1847. Mr. Marshall died about 23 years ago. She was the mother of eight children: Three, W. H., Fremont and Mrs. Eliza Trible preceded her to the spirit world. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Chamberlain, U. B. minister of North Liberty, on Tuesday, August 27. She had been a consistent member of that church for many years. She was born and married in Clark county, Ohio. Her home had been on the farm on which she died since 1847, a period of 54 years. She was the mother of Mrs. John Humiston of this place.
