Mrs. Florence McGill Curtis, wife of W.L. Curtis, died at her home in this place Friday morning, July 31. She had been ill a month or more, much of the time in a critical condition, and her death was not altogether unexpected. Two small children are left without a mother's care and influence and the heart of a fond husband is well nigh breaking with grief. No one, except by actual experience, can realize the awful void that is left in a home and heart when a wife and mother is taken away. Deceased was a most excellent lady, only thirty-two years of age, a member of the U. P. church at Columbus City and very popular among her acquaintances. The funeral was held at Harrison U. P. church, hear her childhood home, on Sunday. It was one of the largest gathering which ever assembled in that neighborhood to pay respect to a departed friend. Upwards of one hundred and thirty teams followed the remains to the Harrison cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. J. A. Greer.
