Conesville, May 7- the community mourn the loss of one of their very best citizen and neighbors Thomas Jean who departed this life for a brighter world on the morning of the third shortly after four o'clock. Had been ill for several weeks with typhoid fever. There was a time during this illness that hope for life was entertained, but pneumonia set it and death laid hands upon the victim and God called his spirit home to rest. Mr. Jean was a member of the Christian church having been converted under Rev. Seymore in the meetings he held last winter in the Sand Prairie school house. His funeral was preached in the Reformed church here Sunday by the above minister. Text taken from Job, chap. vii. It was effective and delivered with feeling. There were six of Mr. Jean's neighbors that acted as pall bearers, whose names we did not get also a select choir from Letts, of which four were young ladies and four gentleman. Two of the songs sang were, " In the Rifted Rock I'm Resting," and "We'll Never Say Good-Bye in Heaven." A large number of relatives and friends witnessed the solemn ceremony and followed the remains to their last resting place where he was laid to rest in the Brockway cemetery. Mr. Jean leaves a wife, father and mother, sister and brothers and relatives to mourn his loss. As our heart goes out in sympathy for the bereaved wife, allow us to say these few words. Bound by the cords of human love they lived a happy man and wife, until death's angels came sweeping forth from above, claiming the husband as God's own child. He is not dead but sleepeth; sleeping until the resurrection morn where he'll meet his own loved one left in this world behind.
