Columbus City, August 27- With sadness we chronicle the death of Miss Maggie Welch which occurred Friday. She was laid to rest Sabbath. This is very sad for only a few weeks since the mother was taken from the home.

Miss Maggie Welch died at her home in Columbus City last Friday afternoon, August 24, at 3 o'clock. She had been in failing heath for some months and had been confined to her bed about two weeks, but was not considered dangerous until a few hours before her demise. Her death was a great shock to her friends being so unexpected. Her illness was due largely to her devotion to her mother whose death occurred July 2 after an illness of some moth during which time she was cared for by Maggie whose health and strength seemed unequal to the task and she has not been well since. She was about twenty-seven years of age and leaves an aged father, two sisters and three brothers besides many friends to mourn her early death. She was the companion and housekeeper for her father who is not left alone. Maggie united with the M. E. church last winter and was to have been taken into full membership last Sunday. Her funeral occurred from the Baptist church Sunday afternoon conducted by Revs LeCornu and Donovan and was one of the largest funeral ever held in the City.
