Mrs. Elia Jacobs Henry was born near Letts, May 2, 1867, and died at her home near Keswick, May 20, 1894. Deceased spent her girlhood in Letts. In October 1890 she was united in marriage to Irwin Henry of Keokuk county and since then has made her home in that county. The illness which resulted in her death was very painful, being caused by an abcess in her side, but through her six weeks of suffering she bore with a patience that was wonderful. She found in her Bible a great solace selecting as her funeral text, "Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest." She having found rest in Jesus wanted others to find it too, and now she has gone to her eternal rest. At her request the remains were brought to Letts and interred in our beautiful cemetery. The husband has the sympathy of a large circle of friends as also have the mother, four sisters and brother in our village. Yet they mourn not as those having no hope.
