Oreno Gates, of the firm of Gates & Hall, died at his home in Oakville, Iowa, Saturday, June 2, at 2:45 p. m. Mr. Gates was comparatively a young man, having been born in Mercer county, Illinois in 1854. He came to Iowa in 1882 and has since then been a resident of Eliot township. He followed the business of farming until last November when he entered the mercantile trade in Oakville. He leaves a wife and seven children to feel and mourn his loss. The funeral occurred Sunday at 2 o'clock at Polo Alto church, conducted by Rev. Tague. Interment at the Creighton cemetery.
