Arthur Bates died at the residence of H. T. Jones in this place last Saturday evening at 5:30 o'clock. He had returned from South Dakota only six weeks ago, an invalid from that dread scourge, consumption. He was aged about 22 years. His father had been dead many years; his mother died only about three years ago. He was buried by the side of his parents in the Foster cemetery, Union township, Sunday afternoon. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Pusey. He leaves two sisters, Ava and Cora, both unmarried.
