Raymond A. Werner, 101, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at Colonial Manor in Columbus Junction. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Columbus Junction. Burial will be in the Grandview Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with a 7:00 p.m. Masonic Service. Due to Covid restrictions, all who attend are required to wear a mask and social distance. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Ray and Evelyn Werner Wapello Scholarship Fund, Letts United Methodist Church or Love Takes Root (an orphanage in Haiti). Raymond was born on July 7, 1919, on the farm near Letts, the son of Willian Albert and Pearl Mae (Pantel) Werner. He attended American Institute of Business in Davenport. Ray proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII, serving in the Pacific Theatre. Raymond was united in marriage to Wanda Young. Following Wanda's passing, he was united in marriage to Evelyn (Staub) Buster. Raymond worked at the Burlington Ordinance Plant and was a farmer. He was a member of the Methodist churches in Wapello and Letts. Raymond was also a member of the American Legion where he was the Post Commander, Boy Scouts Commissioner, Farm Bureau Board, Letts School Board, Wapello Masonic Lodge, Louisa County Habitat for Humanity, Community Action, Louisa County Historical Society, Veteran's Memorial, Kiwanis where he served as President for four years, Lions Club and the V.F.W. Raymond was an avid Iowa Hawkeye, Green Bay Packers and St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Raymond will be deeply missed by his children, Janice Campbell of Davenport, James Dale Werner of Letts, Robert Allen Werner of Pasadena, California and Marcia (Rick) Crooks of Muscatine; step-children, Paula (Robert) Buckman of Morning Sun, Patricia (Roger) Downs of Decorah and Pamela (Harold) Humphreys of Crawfordsville; step daughter-in-law, Ingrid Buster of Morning Sun and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; both wives; step-son, John Buster and siblings, Charles Pantel, David Werner, John Werner and Mary Crumly.
