Columbus Gazette, Columbus Junction, Iowa Wednesday, December 13, 1893 page 1

Mrs. Estella Todd, Crotsenburg was born in Louisa county, Iowa, December 15, 1861, and died at her home in Columbus Junction, Iowa, December 8, 1893. Had she lived a week longer she would have been thirty-two years of age. Her whole life had been spent in this county. She was married March, 1891, to C. N. Crotsenburg. She leaves two little boys, the eldest just two years of age and the younger born of Thanksgiving day. Both are too young to realize the great misfortune which has befallen them. She leaves a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Todd, of Toddtown, one brother, O. S. Todd of the Safeguard, and one sister, Miss Musa, to mourn her sad death. Besides these, there is a large circle of friends and relatives by whom she will long be missed. She had been a consistent member of the Reformed church for many years, and when the end came all was peace, though the grief of leaving her beloved husband and little babes was such as only a loving wife and mother could realize. She was of a very quiet and retiring disposition and was most highly appreciated by those who knew her best. The funeral services were held at the Reformed church in Columbus Junction on Sabbath afternoon, December 10, 1893, conducted by her pastor, Rev. D. H. Douse, assisted by Rev. Williams of the Presbyterian church. a very large number of people attended her funeral. She was laid to rest in the Columbus City cemetery.
