Shirley M. Finke, 93, of Columbus Junction, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Colonial Manor Care Center. A private family graveside will be held at the Columbus City Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Corey Finke, Randy Pugh, Jason Utter, Travis Finke, Mitchel Finke and Chase Finke. Honorary pallbearers will be Melissa McKean, Amy Pugh, Jennifer Scorpil, Traci Mueller, and Ann Utter. A Memorial Service for family and friends will be held at a later date at the Columbus Junction United Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Columbus Junction United Presbyterian Church in memory of Shirley. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com . Shirley May Dilsaver was born on May 13, 1927 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of William and Geneva (Galer) Dilsaver. Shirley was a graduate of Burlington High School. On December 16, 1945, she was united in marriage to Leo L. Finke in Cedar Rapids. First and foremost, Shirley was a farmwife and mother but also spent some time working at Smithcraft, as a cook at Winfield Schools, Mary’s Country Gifts, and Don and Dots Electric. Shirley was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Red Hat Ladies, Shellbark Club, served on the Winfield Booster Club and as WMU PTA President. Over the years, Shirley and Leo welcomed vacation families from all over the United States to Pitch-Inn Farm. Shirley enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren in sports and other activities. She enjoyed her morning coffee group, golfing and spending the winters vacationing in Florida.

Shirley will be deeply missed by her children, Wayne (Sherry Pine) Finke of Columbus Junction, Roger Finke of Knoxville, Cheryl Finke of Atlanta, Georgia, Sonya (Doug) Pugh, Nance (Bob) Utter and William “Lennie” (Darla) Finke all of Columbus Junction; eleven grandchildren; Sixteen great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren and sister, Nancy Dearman of Fort Mill, South Carolina.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, William Dilsaver; two grandchildren, Carrie and J.D. and one great great grandchild, Elton.
