OBITUARY.

Mrs. Celestia Hall was born in the state of New York in 182. She departed this life at Columbus Junction, Iowa, November 3, 1891. Had she lived a few months longer she would have been eighty years of age. In childhood she removed to Connersville, and afterwards to Crawfordsville, Indiana. Here, in 1832, she was married to Mr. James G. Hall, with whom she removed to Iowa in 1837, settling on a farm near Columbus City. They lived together nearly forty years, only being separated once during that time for about three weeks. Mr. Hall died in 1872. A few years later she removed to Columbus Junction where she has since made her home. She was the mother of ten children. Two little girls died in Indiana, and were buried in one grave. One little son died in Iowa. her oldest son, Clark, died at Shell Beach, Louisiana, in 1880. Six children survive her. These are M. O., Ft Worth, Texas, Dr. E. I Hall, Lakeside, Louisiana, W. F. and A. W., Colfax, Iowa, Mrs. Julia Williams and Mrs. W. H. Hughes, Columbus Junction, Iowa. All these were present when she died. Except M. O. of Ft. The funeral service being held at the home, conducted by her nephew, rev. Miller of Burlington. A selected choir rendered some beautiful music. Many elegant floral tributes were sent in and a large number of friends followed her to her resting place. Thoughtful friends had covered the grave with evergreens and all was done that loving hearts could do to show the great esteem in which Mrs. Hall was held and to alleviate the sorrow of her dear ones. No one has ever been taken from our midst who was so universally beloved. All who knew her, loved her. She was a charming old lady. her faculties were retained perfectly and there was a sweet and quiet dignity about her and her affectionate, sympathetic heart, making her charming to old and young. She was a member of the Christian church for almost sixty years. her faith grew brighter and stronger in advancing years and she died triumphantly. She called her children to her bedside a short time before she breathed her last and asked them all to meet her in heaven. Her illness lasted about six days and was severe from the first. She recognized her friends to the last and was sweetly patient and thoughtful through it all. As she lay in her casket with such a sweet expression on her face she looked like a saint at rest, her beautiful life is an inspiration to better living to all who knew her.
