Died – Sunday, January 8th, at about 2 o’clock p.m. at the residence of his son-in-law J. L. Grubb, Marens Parsons. He was born in the state of New York, Jan 9th, 1807, so lucked but the day of having arrived at the mature age of 81 years. He settled in Morning Sun township on the farm owned by him at the time of his death. In April 1839 he had lived for two years preceeding in Des Moines county, in Danville. He appeared to have a slight stroke of paralysis Thursday of last week which was the immediate cause of his death. He was not a member of any church or secret society. He was buried Tuesday at Morning Sun. He leaves four children; two sons, M. D. Parsons, Stanton, Neb., and M. C. Parsons, Canton, Ohio, and two daughters, Mrs. John Jackson, Oregon, Missouri, and Mrs. L. Grubb of this place. His wife preceeded him in death four years ago.
