Former State Senator C. A. Carpenter is dead at his home in Columbus Junction, at the age of 51 years, following an illness of typhoid fever and malarial fever. He was one of the leading attorneys of that part of the state and for many years has been prominent in political circles.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born January 12, 1864 and died Oct. 5, 1913. He is buried in Columbus City Cemetery.
