Estella Jackson Funeral Monday
Funeral services for Mrs. Estella Jackson, mother of Bud Jackson of this place, were held Monday afternoon at the Pierce funeral home with Dr. Will M. Hughes pastor of the United Presbyterian church in charge. Mrs. Jackson, 92 years and three months old at the time of her death, died Saturday, March 31, at the Whaley nursing home in Mt. Pleasant.
Estella Jackson was the daughter of Henry and Diane Beadle and was born in Fayette county, Iowa on December 31, 1858. Her father, Henry Beadle, was a Union soldier in Confederate prison camp. On August 19, 1890 she was married to William Henry Jackson at Red Oak, Iowa where the couple lived for several years before moving to Louisa county where Mrs. Jackson was since a resident.
She is survived by Bud Jackson, Morning Sun, Leo B. Jackson, Winfield, and Emma A. Jackson, Winfield, and Emma A. Jackson, Columbus Junction. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery.
