Mrs. Jennie Sterrett Dies in Seattle
Word was received here Monday of the death of Mrs. Jennie Sterret, 75, former Morning Sun resident. Mrs. Sterrett died Sunday, February 11 in a Seattle, Washington hospital.

She was the former Jennie Latta, daughter of John P. and Sophia Passmore Latta, and was born in Morning Sun on March 19, 1875. She grew to womanhood in this place and was a graduate of the Morning Sun high school.

She was married to David Sterrett and for a number of years their home was in Riverside, Iowa where Mr. Sterrett was a telegraph operator for the Rock Island railroad. Upon his retirement they moved to Alburquerque, New Mexico where Mr. Sterrett died. Later Mrs. Sterrett moved to Seattle to make her home with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jones.

Only survivor of Mrs. Sterrett is her brother, J. K. Latta, Washington, Iowa. Two brothers and two sisters are dead.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon at the Pierce funeral home with the Rev. Robert Dodder, pastor of the Morning Sun Methodist church, in charge. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery.
