Rosemary Wagg
Rosemary B. Wagg, 71, of Wapello (Iowa), died Friday evening, September 24, 2004, upon arrival at Unity Hospital in Muscatine (Iowa). The daughter of Cloyce and Beulah Newman Messenger she was born June 13, 1933 in Winfield (Iowa). She married Howard F. Wagg on March 24, 1949 at Bennettsville, South Carolina. He preceded her in death on February 13, 1998.
She had attended Wapello High School.
She was a bookkeeper at Wapello Jack & Jill for 26 years.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Women’s Ducks Unlimited, all of Wapello (Iowa). She was an avid Clubs fan and had enjoyed boating and the Hawkeyes. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen and Norman Stone of Wapello (Iowa) and Connie and Noel Stineman of Grandview (Iowa); two sons, Douglas and Debbie Wagg of Letts (Iowa) and Thomas and Brenda Wagg of Cedar Rapids (Iowa); eleven Grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her parents; a grandson Michael; two brothers, Cloyce and Ben; and a sister, Mildred.
The funeral service was Tuesday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello (Iowa), with the Rev. Harlan W. Winter officiating. The pallbearers were her grandchildren, Travis Stone, Lyndsey Stone, Kelly Ricketts, Todd Stineman, Chad Stineman, Stacy Wagg, Amanda McCleary, Janelle Byrd, Andrew Wagg, Morgan Wagg and Mallory Wagg. Honorary bearers were Jim Wagg, George Wagg, Max Wagg, and Keith Robbins. Burial followed at the Wapello Cemetery.
Visitation was Monday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home where the family met with friends in the evening.
A memorial fund has been established for the benefit of the United Methodist Church, the Wapello Rescue Unit, and the Wapello Volunteer Fire Department.
