Virginia McKee

Virginia Maxine McKee, 75, of Morning Sun, died Monday morning, September 27, 2004, at the Morning Sun Care Center. The daughter of Noah and Emma Evans Bergen, she was born…..March 13, 1947, she married James Raymond McKee, Sr., in Wapello; he died June 25, 1983.

She was a graduate of Wapello High School.

She worked as a CAN at the Mediapolis Care Center and then at the Morning Sun Care Center. She had also worked at the IAAP.

She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Wapello and recently had been attending Faith Christian Outreach in Mount Pleasant. She was a member of the Morning Sun American Legion Auxiliary.

She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and her family.

Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Murray and Connie Turner, both of Morning Sun; two sons, Jim McKee of West Burlington and Randall McKee of New London; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Carolyn Adams of Winfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one great-grandson, and two brothers.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun, with the Rev. Brent Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1 until 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the family will meet with friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

A general memorial has been established.
