Dearest daughter, thou has left us,

We thy loss most deeply feel,

But the God who has bereft us,

He can all our sorrows heal.

Yet, again we hope to meet thee

When this day of life is fled;

And in heaven with joy to greet thee

Where no farewell tears are shed.
