Dies Following Brief Illness.

L. M. Samson, 62, widely known Morning Sun (Iowa) man, died January 4 at Burlington (Iowa) hospital where he had been taken following a heart attack on December 20. Mr. Samson was stricken while shoving snow at his home here and was taken to the hospital the same day.

During most of his life Mr. Samson was engaged in farming, but in recent years he worked as a painter and carpenter.

Louis Merle Samson was born at Wyman, Iowa on September 23, 1889. He was the son of Owen L. and Sarah Dill Samson. With his parents he moved from Wyman to Washington, Iowa, where he graduated from high school. He later attended Geneva College.

On December 31, 1913, he was married to Mary Irene Armstrong, who survives with one daughter, Mrs. Faith Smith of Washington, D.C. Also surviving are one granddaughter, two sisters, Miss Nettie Samson, Washington, Mrs. Lois Conrad, Cedar Rapids (Iowa), and a step-mother, Mrs. Ina Samson, Washington (Iowa)

Mr. Samson united with the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Wyman (Iowa), later transferring his membership to the congregation in Washington (Iowa) and finally to the Morning Sun Church. Funeral services, in charge of Rev. J. P. McElroy, were held Monday afternoon in the Reformed Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery (Morning Sun, IA)

Known to be here for the services from out of town was Miss Nettie Samson, Mrs. Ina Samson, Robert Day, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ramseyer, all of Washington, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Conrad and Dennis, Cedar Rapids (Iowa); Mrs. Sadie McCullough, Mr. Knox Dunn, Mr. James Dunn, Wyman (Iowa).
