Neta Fowler

Neta Fowler, 52, of Morning Sun (Iowa), died Saturday, September 18, 2004, at the Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa. Funeral services for Neta will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Winfield (Iowa), with Pastor Greg Carr of the Open Bible Church of Winfield officiating. Pallbearers will be John Klos, Josh Van Winkle, Travis Hartley, Kevin Jacobs, Joe Grelk, and J. R. Hewitt. Burial will be in the Columbus City Cemetery (Louisa county, Iowa)

Visitation was from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction (Iowa)

A memorial has been established at the funeral home for the American Cancer Society.

Neta Francine Butterbaugh was born March 23, 1952, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Francis and Neomia Hole Butterbaugh. On July 3, 1970, she was united in marriage to Burton Gipple; he passed away in June of 1990. Then on October 17, 1992, she married Kevin L. Fowler in Winfield (Iowa).

She was a homemaker and farmer’s wife, worked as a nurse’s aide at the Sunrise Terrace Nursing Home in Winfield (Iowa), and also for Metromail in Mount Pleasant (Iowa).

Neta enjoyed traveling and going out to different restaurants to eat. She also liked caring for her cats, growing flowers and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She will be dearly missed by her husband Kevin of Morning Sun (Iowa); three sons, Bret Gipple and wife Dana of Clarksville, Tennessee, Jeff Gipple and wife Missy of Columbus Junction (Iowa) and Kevin Gipple of Wayland; eight grandchildren; her brother, Rodney Butterbaugh of Wellman (Iowa); four sisters, Judy Pfeiffer and husband Bill of New London (Iowa), Trudy Workman and husband Clarence of Bonaparte (Iowa), Pam Canott of Washington (Iowa) and Monica Babcock and husband Tom of Solon (Iowa); and a sister-in-law, Renee Gott and husband Bob of New London (Iowa).

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Burton; one brother, Richard; and a brother Cary in infancy.
