COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa - A rural Louisa County man was killed early Wednesday morning when his truck rolled over in a roadside ditch near Columbus Junction.

According to a Louisa County Sheriff's Office accident report, Ellery J. Virzi, 48, Columbus Junction, was driving his Chevy S-10 pickup truck on Louisa County Road X37, north of 218th Avenue, when he lost control and rolled over in a ditch at approximately 3:01 a.m.

Virzi was transported by ambulance to the Washington County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Virzi was driving alone at the time of the accident, authorities said.
