Ronald Putnam
Ronald Jeffery "Jeff" Putnam, 50, of Wapello, died at 10:10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at the home of Tamara Shipman.
Born June 26, 1954, in Oskaloosa, he was the son of Elmer F. and Vesta Jean Latcham Putnam. On April 12, 1980, he married Deborah Spath in Fairfield. On May 30, 1987, he married Tamara Shipman.
Mr. Putnam worked as a laborer for U.S. Gypsum for 10 years and Letica Corp. for the last four years.
He was a 1972 graduate of Mid Prairie High School and a Navy veteran. He was of the Methodist faith. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of Ducks Unlimited of Southeast Iowa.
Survivors include his former wife, Tammy Shipman, of (rural Oakville); two sons, Ahrim "Strider" Putnam and Jackson Thomas, both of Fairfield; four daughters, Ashley Putnam and Mara Putnam, both of Janesville, Wis., and Jaymi Putnam and Josey Putnam, both of (rural Oakville); four grandchildren; his father of Davenport; and one sister, Paula Keller of Davenport.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
There will be no visitation or service for Mr. Putnam. His body has been cremated according to his wishes. A private family memorial service will be at a later date.
Lunning Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
