COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa - Jeffrey Allen Paetz, 36, Columbus Junction, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at Unity Hospital, Muscatine.

Services are 10 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at Columbus Junction United Methodist Church. The Rev. Cathy Whitlatch will officiate. Casket bearers are Joshua Sands, Jacob Sands, Amos Garrett, Steve Tomfield, Steve Zabel Jr. and Ed Zeman. Honorary casket bearers are the Circle of Pride Motorcycle Club.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, July 9, at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Columbus City Cemetery. Online condolences may be left to the Paetz family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Mr. Paetz was born May 15, 1968, in Muscatine, the son of Fred A. and Carol (Chorpening) Paetz. He married Debbie Sands April 2, 1999, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

He graduated from Muscatine High School in 1986.

He served in the U.S. Army during Desert Storm.

He worked as a safety and environmental inspector for Union Tank Car Co., Muscatine.

He served as coordinator for the Circle of Pride Motorcycle Club. He loved motorcycles and working on the Web site for the Circle of Pride Club. He especially loved his family and spending time with them.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jeff Jr. and Derek, both of Columbus Junction, and Andy of Muscatine; his mother, Carol Meeker of Letts; a brother, Melvin Paetz and wife Tammy of Fruitland; a brother-in-law, Tom Sands of Columbus Junction; a sister-in-law, Rita Garrett and special friend Bill Conaway of Columbus Junction; father-in-law, Sam Sands and wife Rita of Columbus Junction; a stepbrother; four stepsisters; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; his mother-in-law, Juanita Sands; his paternal and maternal grandparents; and his stepfather, Floyd Meeker.
