Nettie E. Paulin was born June 28, 1863, at Grandview, Ia., and died July 3, 1912 at her home in Letts, aged 49 years and 5 days.

She was united in marriage with C.E. Coder, January 10, 1884. To this union five children were born - James M., Vinnie A., Esther M., Lonnie V., and Mrs. Alta E Rasley, all of Letts excepting Lonnie, who lives at Kewanee, Ill. In addition to these she leaves to mourn her death her husband, C. E. Coder, her mother, Mrs. T. E. Milburn, of Grandview, and a brother, J.T. Paulin, of Letts, and two grandchildren, Wandoline Coder and Lillian Rasley.

Mrs. Coder was a loving wife and mother and endeared herself to many by her kind, cheerful, helpful spirit.

The funeral service was conducted at the M. E. church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. T. F. Barker officiating, assisted by Rev. J. C. Stark. The text for the discourse was taken from John, 6th chapter - " Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life."

The songs sung by the choir were: "Never Alone," "Tell Mother I'll Be There," and "Some Day."

The floral offerings were many and beautiful, conspicuous among them being a large floral pillow from the family.

The pallbearers were E. S. Rabe, M. A. Shellabarger, G.E. Bailey, H. H. Fullerton, J. M. Hildebrand and H. G. Hartman. Interment was made in the Letts cemetery.

The members of Muscatine and Louisa county Rebekah lodges, of which deceased was a prominent member, attended in a body, marched to the cemetery and performed the simple service of dropping upon the casket the sprig of evergreen.

The family and kindred have the sympathy of the community in their sad bereavement.
