YOUNG LAD DIES OF TYPHOID FEVER

OVERCOME BY DISEASE AFTER ONE WEEK OF ILLNESS.

Death Arrives Unexpectedly to Frank Buell, Residing on Island - Mother Prostrated.

Joyous and happy one week ago, entering in the games of his school mates with all the abandon of youth but a few days since, Frank Buell, a boy of twelve years of age, residing with his mother, Mrs. Armeda Buell, on Muscatine Island, lies dead at his home, death coming yesterday. Typhoid fever, with which he was seized last week, caused his demise.

The young lad did not complain of feeling unwell until about a week ago when he was suddenly overcome with the virulent disease. The fever made such inroads into the little body that it was unable to withstand its progress, passing away most unexpectedly yesterday. The shock of the death prostrated the mother and she herself was in a serious condition for awhile, although today she is considerably improved.

His mother, two sisters and three half-brothers survive him.

In respect of the deceased lad, the Hopewell school, which he attended, will be closed for the remainder of the week until after the funeral, which will be held from the German Lutheran church at Grandview Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The body will be placed beside the grave of his father, Lee Buell, who met death in a railroad accident a number of years ago. Frank Buell took part in a Hallowe'en program given at the school.
