Hardin, Patricia A – The Wapello Republican, November 6, 2014.

Patricia Ann Hardin, 77 years of age, was born in Maynard, Iowa, on August 4, 1937 and passed away on October 27, 2014, at Emerald Pointe Assisted Living Facility in Cedar City, Utah.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean A. Hardin, and parents Dorothy Wittenberg Arnold and James Brown.

Patricia is survived by her two children, daughter Peggy Kleinkopf (David), Danville, Iowa, and son, Brad Hardin, Las Vegas, Nevada; and brother James Brown (Beverly), Amana, Iowa; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; her beloved four legged companion Oscar; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Patricia married Dean Hardin on June 11, 1955. During her life she was in sales selling high-end jewelry. She also worked in telemarketing and upon retiring worked part-time with the elderly doing home health care.

Due to progressed Alzheimer’s disease, she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in May of 2007 where she resided until being placed at Emerald Pointe Assisted Living in November of 2010. She enjoyed conversing and helping with the residents until she could no longer do so.

Her joys and passions in life were her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, reading, taking care of her fruit, vegetable and flower gardens and caring for the elderly. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Services are scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello, Iowa, with the Rev. Pam Kranzler officiating. Burial will follow in the Edwards Cemetery, rural Oakville, Iowa. A luncheon gathering of family and close friends will follow at the Corner Market in Wapello.
