Larry 'Hippie' Beeding
OAKVILLE, Iowa - Larry Melvin "Hippie" Beeding, 54, Oakville, died Sunday, June 6, 2004, at the Colony Flea Market, Colony, Mo.
Graveside services are 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, at the Wapello Cemetery, Wapello. The Rev. Dan Dickey will officiate. Honorary casket bearers are Steven Walker, David Walker, Rick Walker, Jeff Bass, Harry Westfall and Jerry Beeding.
The family will gather for a private viewing at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello. A memorial fund has been established.
Mr. Beeding was born July 27, 1949, in Muscatine, the son of Clyde "Pete" and Dorothy Ford Beeding. He married Harriet Dickey Nov. 10, 1999, in Oakville.
He was a welder, junker, trader and wheeler-dealer, attending many flea markets to buy, sell and trade.
He was an avid fisherman and camper and loved old country music. He was the happiest at home with his family and also while on the Mississippi River.
Survivors include his wife; his father, Clyde "Pete" Beeding and wife Judy of Oakville; his mother, Dorothy Beeding of Muscatine; a daughter, Jennifer Calvin of Georgia; three sons, Larry Scott Beeding of Oakville, Zacheriah Palmer and Harrison Beeding, both at home; three grandchildren, Kira, Jayce and Dillan; a sister, Wanda Walker of Muscatine; his maternal grandmother, Violet Ford of Muscatine; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Beeding.
