Mrs. J. H. Grim Dies January 1 – Accompanied by a photo of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Grim.

Mrs. J. H. Grim, 79, died at her home here at 2 a.m. January 1 following several months of declining health. She was the former Birdie Owens, daughter of Daniel and Mary Grubb Owens. Mrs. Grim was born on a farm northwest of Morning Sun [Iowa] on January 23, 1872.

On August 31, 1892, she was married to John H. Grim. With the exception of about 14 years spent in the Centerville [Iowa] and Maquoketa [Iowa] communities, Mr. and Mrs. Grim have lived to and near Morning Sun [Iowa].

Mrs. Grim is survived by her husband and two sons, Orville, Highland, California, and Cecil, Mt. Union [Iowa]. Also surviving are four granddaughters, 3 great grandchildren, two brothers, Frank Owens, Long Beach, California, and Laird Owens, Burlington [Iowa] and a sister, Mrs. Elsie Trautman, Norman, Oklahoma. A son and daughter died in infancy.

Mrs. Grim was a member of the Free Methodist church.

Funeral services will be Friday afternoon at 2:30 in the Morning Sun Methodist church following a brief service at the Pierce funeral home at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Rice cemetery.
