Leonard Phillips, Jr.

Leonard Francis Phillips, Jr., 56, of new Hampton, Iowa, died Tuesday, December 2, 2003, at the New Hampton Care Center in New Hampton [Iowa]. He was born October 17, 1947, in Muscatine, Iowa to Leonard and Agnes Houk Phillips, Ser.

He was a volunteer worker and served as a CAN at several area nursing homes.

Leonard will be dearly missed by his son, Leonard Phillips, III of Davenport [Iowa]; his sisters, Ruth Wykert and her husband Melvin of Muscatine [Iowa], Sandra Coles and her husband George of Grandview [Iowa] and Kathy Schweitzer and her husband Ken of Grandview [Iowa]; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were Friday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction [Iowa] with the Rev. Danny Phillips officiating. Pallbearers were Mitch Schweitzer, Joel Connor, Leo Axtel, Jr., and Mariah J. Schweitzer. Burial was in the Columbus City Cemetery.

Visitation was Thursday at the Stacy Lewis Funeral Home.

A memorial has been established at the funeral home.
