Pauline Stapp

Pauline Ellen Stapp, 79, of Columbus Junction, died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Born July 19, 1924, in Sperry, she was the daughter of Elmer and Emeline D. Jamison Aspelmeier. On May 24, 1943, she married Donald Lewis Stapp in Washington.

Mrs. Stapp was a homemaker. She enjoyed fishing and playing cards. She was a volunteer at Colonial Manor Care Center in Columbus Junction and was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include four daughters, Lois Lee of Cornelia, Ga., Linda Lord of Ainsworth, Connie Cronbaugh of Marengo and Donna Holskey of Valdosta, Ga.; one son, Gary Stapp of Grandview; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; one brother, Walter Aspelmeier of East Moline, Ill.; and two sisters, Frances Smith of Troy, Ill., and Carol Jean Skains of Houston.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Stapp was preceded in death by one daughter, one brother and one grandson.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction.

The funeral for Mrs. Stapp will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
