Leandra Faye Ketchum

Leandra Faye Ketchum, age 63 of Morning Sun, died Friday, October 7, 2011 at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. The daughter of Glen and Erma (Mayfield) Grindle, she was born November 12, 1947 at Canton, MO. On March 6, 1965 she married Edward Ketchum at Kirksville, MO.

She was a graduate of the Memphis, MO High School.

She cleaned for various people, worked at Champion Products in Burlington and worked as a CNA and Activity Director at the Morning Sun Care Center.

She was a member of the Morning Sun United Methodist Church and was active in both the Methodist and Presbyterian Church circles.

Survivors include: her husband of Morning Sun; one daughter, Tammy and Carl Rasmussen of Centennial, CO; one son, Tim Ketchum of West Burlington; three grandchildren, Lance & Karina Rasmussen and Delaney Ketchum; one brother, Steve & Irene Grindle of Farmington, NM; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral service was Monday, October 10, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Presbyterian Church with Pastor Ramona Wink officiating. Interment followed in Elmwood Cemetery, Morning Sun.

Visitation was Sunday afternoon from 3 – 5:00 p.m. at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun, where the family met with friends.

Memorials were established for the Great River Hospice and the Morning Sun First United Presbyterian Church.
