Columbus Junction-Beulah M. Austin, 84, a 62 year-resident of Letts, died Saturday at Valley View Manor.
Services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Letts United Methodist Church with the Rev. Harlan Babock officiatin. Vocalist is Mrs. Ted Small. Pallbearers are Jack Estle, Richard Paine, Robert Barnes, Earl Bailey, David Dodder, Ted Small and Art Bailey. Burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation begins Tuesday noon at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, where the family will meet with friends and relatives from 7-9 p.m.
Mrs. Austin was born May 23, 1901 at Atchison, Kan., a daughter of Riley and Viola Lindsay English. She married Dr. H.J. Austin in June 1923 at Manhattan, Kan. He died May 1969. She had been a teacher, postmistress at the Letts Post Office, a member of the library board of the Iowa State Historical Society, the Letts School Board, a 50-year member of Capter T of TTT, the Letts United Methodist Church, Federated Club and Garden Club. She had also served on the Letts Library board.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. David (Charlaine) Baskett, Casper, Wyo.; four granddaughters; and two grandsons.
She was preceded in death by one sister.
