Geraldine “Gerri” Leonhard, 92, of Columbus Junction, Iowa, died Saturday, November 17, 2012, at Colonial Manor Care Center in Columbus Junction. Services will be Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church in Columbus Junction. Rev. Faye Fedlam of the United Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be at Columbus City Cemetery. Following the interment, there will be refreshments served at United Presbyterian Church. Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction. Memorials may be directed to the Columbus Junction United Presbyterian Church. On-line condolences may be left for the Leonhard family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Anna Geraldine Hughes was born September 24, 1920, in Columbus City, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Peters) Hughes. On October 11, 1945, Gerri was united in marriage to Bud Leonhard at the Columbus City United Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. Gerri enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and Iowa Hawkeye Basketball on TV, but most of all she dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Geraldine will be dearly missed her three sons, Randy Leonhard and wife, Susie, of Columbus Junction, Ronald Leonhard of Muscatine, and Robert Leonhard and wife, Carolyn, of Marshalltown; nine grandchildren, Andrew Leonhard and wife, Vanessa, of San Antonio, TX, Corey Leonhard of Muscatine, Nick Pugh and wife, Dannisha, of Shueyville, IA, Salina (Pugh) Hemann and husband, Nick, of Iowa City, Zachery Leonhard of Muscatine, Lucas Leonhard of Muscatine, Katrina (Leonhard) Alman and husband, Dan, of Zearing, IA, Robert Leonhard and wife, Jennifer, of Ankeny, IA, Mitchell Leonhard and wife, Catrina, of Nampa, ID; five great-grandchildren, Elynn, Caleb, Oaken, Aria, and Jason; sister-in-law, Marilyn Thomas of Columbus Junction, and many nieces and nephews.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Donna Hughes, sister-in-law, Kathryn Hughes, and one brother, LeRoy Hughes.
