E EVELYN JANSSEN, 92, of Columbus Junction, Iowa, died Saturday, October 28, 2006 at Colonial Manor Care Center in Columbus Junction. There will be no funeral service or visitation. After cremation, burial will be in the Trade Lake Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Frederic, Wisconsin. The Stacy-Lewis Funeral and Cremation Services of Columbus Junction, Iowa is caring for the Janssen family. A memorial has been established at the funeral home in Evelyn's name.

Edith Evelyn BALDWIN was born August 22, 1914 in Grantsburg, Wisconsin, the daughter of Andrew and Matilda (EKSTRUM) BALDWIN. On April 6, 1935, she was united in marriage to Johnnie JANSSEN in Grantsburg, WI. Evelyn was a farm wife,homemaker, mother, and a lifetime member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Frederic, WI. Her special activity was making large hand tied heavy quilts. Many were sent to the Holy Land, and many other countries through her church charities. In later years, she made twin size quilts and lap robes for cancer patients and those in retirement and nursing homes. Her greatest joy was spreading love to her family and friends and being a loving grandma.

Evelyn will be dearly missed by her daughter, Fern WHITE BYLO of Columbus Junction, with whom she made her home in the latter years; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren; and 4 nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1979; one son James in 1974; one daughter JoAnn in 1998; two special sons-in-law, Walt YESCHCK and Chuck WHITE; also a grandson, David JANSSEN in 1969.
