NEWPORT.

O. P. Mickey's remains were
brought here from Osceola, Nob.,
Monday. Mr. Mickey died the 13th at
2:30 p. m. Was sick only about two
hours, a heart trouble being ,the immediate
cause of death. John G.
Mickey, a brother of deceased, J. H.,
A. P. and B. S. Mickey, sons, and
Mrs. A. P. Mickey all of Osceola, followed
the remains. They arrived at
Mediapolis (sic) on the early train Tuesday
morning and were met by relatives
and friends and accompanied them
home near this place. The funeral occured (sic)
Wednesday at Fairview, conducted
by Rev. Robinson of Osceola.
The attendance was very large. Mr.
Mickey was widely known and much
respected. He was born in West
Moorland county, Pa. Dec. 13, 1822;
moved to Burlington in 1836 and to
this neighborhood in 1848. A sister,
Mrs. Farmer of Wayland, and two
daughters were present; also a sister
Mrs. Harmon and son of Riverside; also
relatives from Wapello and Northfield
and Burlington.
