Ethel Irene Kreiger

Ethel Irene Kreiger, 87, of Morning Sun, died Tuesday afternoon, May 22, 2012, at the Morning Sun Care Center. The daughter of Emmett and Betty Mae Dunbar Cary, she was born on October 9, 1924. She married Eugene Kreiger on November 3, 1945 at Bennettsville, South Carolina.

Irene was a homemaker and y et active in the community and worked at several jobs including the meat locker, Service Master, a writer journalist for the paper and radio, and Vicker’s Department Store.

She was an active member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, the UMW, the worship leader, and children’s choir, along with the Community Betterment and Lioness, all of Morning Sun.

Irene is survived by her husband, Eugene.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Duane and Kenneth.

The funeral service for Ethel Irene Kreiger was held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Centenary United Methodist Church in Morning Sun with the Rev. Sue-Ellen Sherman officiating. Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery in Morning Sun.

Visitation was Thursday at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun where the family met with friends in the evening.

A memorial fund has been established for the benefit of the Centenary United Methodist Church and the Morning Sun Community Ambulance Service.
