Drew H. Cooley

Drew H. Cooley, 55 of Morning Sun, died Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.

The son of Howard and Jan (Hamilton) Cooley, he was born September 24, 1956 at Burlington. On February 10, 1979 he married Cheryl Howell at Morning Sun. He was a graduate of the Morning Sun High School.

He worked for many years at Delzell Brothers in Morning Sun. He was a faithful donor of blood platelets through Mississippi Valley. He was a former member of the Morning Sun Fire Dept. and Ambulance Service. He enjoyed camping and his grandchildren.

Survivors include: his parents of Morning Sun; his wife of Morning Sun; two sons, Mark and Brook Cooley of Morning Sun; Richie and Amanda Cooley of Morning Sun; one daughter, Lisa and Jeff Van Amerongen of Morning Sun; six grandchildren; one sister, Jill Cooley of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and in-laws.

Private interment was at the Elmwood Cemetery in Morning Sun.

A celebration of Life Gathering was Saturday August 25, 2012 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Morning Sun Fire Department.

Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun assisted with arrangements.
