Inez Lankford

Inez Verlee Lankford, 88, of Great River Medical Center’s Klein Center, died Monday, February 24, 2003, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Open visitation was Wednesday in Lunning Chapel.

The family received friends 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, prior to the 1:30 funeral service with the Rev. Ron Jewett officiating. Burial was in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for Flint Hills Church of the Nazarene.

Born July 21, 1914, in Louisa County, she was the daughter of Clarence and Clara Bouton Tisor. She married C.T. “Ted” Lankford on August 26, 1933, in Muscatine. He died December 24, 1969.

Mrs. Lankford attended school in Wapello. She sold Avon products for 30 years.

She was a member of the Flint Hills Church of the Nazarene, taught Sunday school and enjoyed needlework and crocheting.

Survivors include two daughters, Darlene Waring of Burlington and Marilyn “Susie” Timmerman of Dallas City, Illinois; one son, Thomas Lankford of Burlington; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Don Tisor of Burlington; two sisters, Daisy Schneider of Clear Lake, California, and Gladys Messer of Wapello.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and two half sisters.
