Dorothy J. Grings, 88, of Grandview, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2012, at the Colonial Manor Care Center of Columbus Junction. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. at the Grandview Community Bible Church. Pastor Darryl Erickson will officiate. Following the funeral service, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the church. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery in Wilton. Casket bearers will be Brad Wildemuth, Jerry Wildemuth, Chet Wildemuth, Chet Wildemuth, Craig Bonnichsen and Melvin Bradley. Honorary casket bearer will be Alan Bradley. Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 31, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction. Memorials may be directed to the Grandview Community Bible Church in memory of Dorothy. Sympathy notes may be left to the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Dorothy Jean Bradley was born on January 8, 1924, in Clarence, Iowa the daughter of Willard and Amelia (Heneke) Bradley. On June 14, 1941, Dorothy was united in marriage to Harry R. Grings in Kahoka, Missouri. Dorothy was a homemaker. Dorothy attended Grandview Community Bible Church and enjoyed cooking, taking care of her family, decorating the house, and playing with her dog, George.

Dorothy will be dearly missed by her husband, Harry of Grandview; her daughter, Bonnie Jean Wildemuth and her husband, Chet of Blue Grass; three grandchildren, Brad, Jerry and Chet; one great-grandchild, Rachel; two sisters, Evelyn Taylor of Cedar Rapids and Rosey Bergert of Davenport and two brothers, Melvin Bradley and his wife, Marilyn and Alan Bradley and his wife, Janice of Eldridge.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents.
