Richard E. Anliker
Richard Emil Anliker, 90, Oakville, died Wednesday, October 8, 2003, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. The son of Samuel and Elizabeth Aschleman Anliker, he was born January 16, 1913, at Roanoke, Illinois. On November 22, 1935, he married Luella Winzeler in Peoria, Illinois.
He worked at Caterpillar in Peoria and farmed at Tremont, Illinois, before moving to Oakville in 1945 where he farmed for several years. He retired from J. I. Case Co. in Burlington.
He was a member of the Oakville Apostolic Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife of Oakville; one son, James Anliker and wife LaVonne of Phoenix, Arizona; three daughters, Shirley Lankford and husband Tom of Burlington, Joyce Korf and husband Ed of Burlington and Sharon Baird of Oakville; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; one brother, Matthew Anliker and one sister, Millie Leman, both of Roanoke, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and four sisters.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Oakville Apostolic Christian Church with ministers of the church officiating. Interment followed in the Apostolic Church Cemetery.
Visitation was Friday at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home where the family met with friends in the evening.
Memorials have been established for the Mediapolis Public Library and the Mediapolis Community Ambulance service.
