Fern White-Bylo, 75, of Columbus Junction, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the Morning Sun Care Center. Cremation has been facilitated by the Life Transition and Cremation Center of Muscatine. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 9, 2011 from 4:00-5:00 P.M. with Memorial Services and eulogy at 4:30 P.M. at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Kay Perkins will officiate. Sympathy notes may be left for Fern’s family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Fern was born on December 18, 1935 in Grantsburg, Wisconsin, the daughter of Johnnie H. and Edith Evelyn (Baldwin) Janssen. Fern was united in marriage to Alvin Earl Storm in 1953 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They later divorced. She married Charles “Chuck” K. White in March of 1972. Fern moved to Columbus Junction in 1968 where she managed T.B.’s Backroom consignment shop for several years. She had attended the Columbus City United Methodist Church and enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening and housekeeping. Fern was a hard working full time mother and foster mother for many years.

Fern will be deeply missed by her children, Beatrice Dayton and special friend, Bill Wilson of Muscatine, James Storm and wife, Debra of Muscatine, David Storm of Columbus Junction and Susan Calvin and husband, Rick of Winfield; eight grandchildren, Jim Dayton and wife, Kim and Angie Bream and husband, Kenny, all of Muscatine, Matt Storm and wife, Stacy of Conesville, Joe Storm of Columbus Junction, Brian Calvin of Winfield, Tabitha Penland and husband Greg of Muscatine, Jason Calvin of Winfield and Jeff Storm of Muscatine; 12 great-grandchildren; and several special nieces and nephews.

Fern was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Chuck, one son, John Storm brother, James Janssen, and sister, JoAnn Yeschick.

The family wishes to thank the staff and friends at the Morning Sun Care Center for their loving care of Fern.
