Richard “Dick” Edwards, an 88-year-old resident of Trenton, MO passed away early Monday morning November 14, 2011 at the St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO.

The body was cremated and per Mr. Edwards request no services will be held. Memorial contributions have been suggested to be given to the Honey Creek Methodist Church. These may be left at or mailed to the Resthaven Mortuary at P.O. Box 587, Trenton, MO 64683, which is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Edwards was born on August 30, 1923 the son of Glenn D. and Dorothy A. Roberts Edwards. He graduated from Cotter Iowa High School. He enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp in 1943 and received his Honorable Discharge as a Sgt. in 1946. He was married to Juanita “Tootie” Smith on April 2, 1948. After his discharge, he worked for Bishops for 27 years in various towns. The family moved to Trenton in 1970 when they opened the Coast to Coast Store. He also drove over-the-road trucks pulling Charlow and Mansfield mobile homes.

He was a 50-year member of the Sioux City Masonic Lodge.

Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife, Tootie Edwards in Trenton, MO; 2 sons, Harry Edwards of Mokane, MO and Thomas Edwards of Albany, GA; a brother, Terry Edwards of Muscatine, IA; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
