MRS. WARREN SWAN
DIES SUDDENLY
Mrs. Warren Swan, 74, former
Morning Sun resident, died at her
home in Crystal Lake, on Friday,
June 23. She was found in the gar-
den by her husband and is thought
to have suffered a heart attack.
Opha Jane Delzell was the daughter
of Robert and Arminta Collins
Delzell and was born November 5,
1875 on the Delzell homestead
northeast of Morning Sun. She grew
to womanhood in this community.
She was married to Warren Swan
on July 31, 1895 and for a number
of years their home was on various
farms in this community. About 35
years ago they moved to Britt, later
moving to Crystal Lake where they
have lived for the past 16 years.
Besides her husband Mrs. Swan
is survived by 5 daughters and two
sons. These are Mrs. Mary Mitchell,
Buffalo Center; Mrs. Anna Hedge-
wood, Des Moines; Mrs. Mildred
I Lonning, Britt; Irma, Santa Monica
Calif.; Eva, at home; Floyd, Ren-
wick; Donald, Waterloo. Five child-
ren are dead. Also surviving are 18
grandchildren, 15 great grandchild
ren and one brother, T. W. Delzell
of Morning Sun.
Funeral services and burial were
at Crystal Lake on Tuesday. Morn-
ing Sun relatives attending the fun-
eral service included Mr. and Mrs
Chester Hamilton, Mr. and Mrs
Rodman Baird, Mrs. Leah Peterson
Mrs. Ina Yohe, Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Delzell, Robert Delzell and T.W. Delzell.
